Bit by Bit

I see the quiet cremation

Seated on the subtle layer

Of the time ground

While furious smoke

Swirls round and round

Where thousands have turned to ashes

Leaving behind bones

And burnt eyelashes

That squeezed the last tears

Out of melting eyes

That had once shed

Sorrow and anguish ...

Holding on tight

To their loneliness

Getting consumed

Bit by bit

Bit by bit ...
